Located in the heart of Old Town Winchester, the museum occupies the historic Frederick County Courthouse which served as a hospital and a prison for both sides. Experience the Civil War where it happened with rare artifacts, immersive exhibits, and many fascinating examples of Civil War Graffiti still visible on the museum walls including the infamous “Curse to Jeff Davis”.
