2026 “Come as You Were” Preservation Ball

The Shenandoah Valley Civil War Era Dancers and the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields National Historic District would like to ask: “May we have this dance?”

You are cordially invited to join us at the Mimslyn Inn in Luray, Virginia, for an evening of dancing, socializing, and all around good fun!

The 2026 “Come As You Were” Preservation Ball will begin at 6:00pm on Saturday, March 21. Please help yourselves to hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar, and say hello to friends old and new between 6:00 and 7:00 pm. Dancing will commence at 7:00 pm and end about 10:00 pm.

If you would like to stay at the Mimslyn Inn, “mention our name at the bell, and they will attend you” - that is to say, let them know you’re a guest of the Ball and they will give you a special room rate.

Attire can be a celebration of any historical era. Feel free to be creative!

Ben Miller will once again help us kick up our heels with his fiddlin’ finesse.

1) Fill out the form below, including the field regarding spouses/additional guests, and click SUBMIT. Do not navigate away just yet!

2) If you’d like to pay online: A paragraph will appear after you hit SUBMIT. Within the paragraph, you’ll be told to “click HERE” - that will take you to the giving form that you will use to make a tax-deductible gift. The gift will qualify you to attend the Ball as a Thank You for supporting the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields National Historic District.

3) Fill out the giving form and click GIVE. You should receive an email thanking you for your contribution - that’s when you’re all squared away!
