The Shenandoah Valley Battlefields National Historic District's 2027 National Civil War Conference will focus on the battles of Third Winchester and Fisher’s Hill and their role in changing the war in the Shenandoah Valley. The tours will explore new sites that have never been toured or have been newly acquired by the Battlefields Foundation.
The conference will include speakers, special events, and battlefield tours, featuring Scott Patchan, Jonathan Noyalas, Trish Ridgeway, Peter Dalton, Jim Goecker, Phil Spaugy, and Terry Heder.

Thursday (April 22, 2027)
7:00 a.m.: Breakfast and conference check-in opens.
9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.: Bus Tour - Third Battle of Winchester (Guide: Scott Patchan) with Lunch included.
6:00 p.m.: Dinner on your own and a free evening to explore Front Royal and the surrounding area.
7:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.: Members Reception at the DoubleTree Hotel
Friday (April 23, 2027)
8:00 a.m.: Breakfast and conference check-in opens.
9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.: Speaker Programs featuring Scott Patchan, Trish Ridgeway, Peter Dalton, Jim Goecker, Phil Spaugy, and Terry Heder
12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.: Lunch
5:30 p.m.: Social Hour
6:30 p.m.: Banquet Dinner with Host Keven Walker
Saturday (April 24, 2027)
8:00 a.m: Breakfast and conference check-in opens.
9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.: Bus Tour - Battle of Fisher’s Hill (Guides: Jonathan Noyalas and Scott Patchan) with Lunch included.
No refunds after April 1, 2027, but your registration may be converted into a tax-deductible gift.
