Volunteering is a great way to contribute to the vital work of the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation. The SVBF offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities – ways that you can make a difference in our fight to preserve the Valley’s historic landscapes.

Help with SVBF Events

Assist SVBF staff in set-up, take down, and staffing of various exhibits at shows, fairs, and other events.

Information Desk Attendant

Answer phones and greet visitors as they enter at our Strayer House Orientation Center in New Market, our Third Winchester Battlefield Visitor Center, and our newly acquired Old Courthouse Civil War Museum in downtown Winchester.

Battlefield Maintenance

Help maintain our many battlefields throughout the Valley by assisting with weed eating, mowing grass, trash clean up, etc.

Battlefield Restoration

Make our battlefields look like they did back in the day. Help with this construction of historic fences and the creation of paths that the soldiers would have walked during the battles.

To become a volunteer – or for more information – call the SVBF offices at 540-740-4545.
