Part of the mission of the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation is to present tools, programs, and other resources that support the work of our partners in the National Historic District.

Grants to Partners 
The SVBF’s Implementation Grants assist partners with projects that they might not otherwise be able to undertake to preserve, interpret, and promote the Shenandoah Valley’s Civil War history and sites.

Working Groups and Committees
Local, regional, and Valley-wide working groups and committees allow the people and organizations in the National Historic District to be full and active partners in the preservation, interpretation, and marketing of the Civil War history of their communities.

Partner Training
Professional training presented by the SVBF that is designed to provide partners with the knowledge and skills needed to plan and present their programs and to build long-term sustainability for their sites.

Marketing and Interpretive plans for the National Historic District that provide the SVBF and its partners with a blueprint for setting and accomplishing their marketing and interpretive goals; help partners strengthen their programs; and encourage collaborative efforts.

Event Promotion
The SVBF helps support partner events and activities by promoting them on this website and through other media.  Programs must be Civil War-related and held in the National Historic District or the surrounding areas of Jefferson County, West Virginia, and Rockbridge County, Virginia.  To submit an event for review, click here.
