Battlefield Orientation Center that interprets the Battle of Cedar Creek.
On October 19, 1864 Jubal Early and his Confederate Army met the Union Army of Philip Sheridan. The results of the Battle were catastrophic for the Shenandoah Valley and the Confederate cause. With this defeat, the Confederates would no longer have a stronghold on the Valley and Sheridan would begin his campaign that would become known as “The Burning”.
