Interpretive signage on the mapmakers post war life and death in Staunton, Virginia.

Jedediah Hotchkiss, most well-known for his map making abilities that aided in Confederate successes in the Shenandoah Valley, moved to Staunton after the war and started an engineering firm and school.  Hotchkiss spent much of his post war life educating the population on the war and his experience.  He was buried in Thornrose Cemetery following his death in 1899.
