Presented by the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation. This special 155th Anniversary living history event will feature:

  • A full artillery section portraying Henry Brewerton’s 5th US Battery B, including two horse-drawn cannon, battery wagon, caisson, and full teamster/support detail.
  • 17 horses in all.
  • An immersive “you are there” experience with troops on the line.

The event includes living history presented by Liberty Rifles and 1st Section from 1pm-5pm. Programs will include a combined arms demonstration at 1pm, with infantry forming, drilling, and maneuvering, and artillery deploying into battery, unlimbering and firing. The event will climax with a torchlight tour at 7:00pm that will feature vignettes including horses and teamsters, infantry pickets, artillery in defensive line, and the story of the opening of the attack during the battle.
