Waynesboro At War: Commemorating the Battle of Waynesboro
September 12, 2015 @ 8:00 am - September 13, 2015 @ 5:00 pm
Waynesboro was a sleepy little town in Virginia, nestled on the banks of the South River at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Waynesboro was best known for the trestle bridge of the Virginia Central Railroad that crossed there. Little did the residents know that in September, 1864, that bridge would draw elements of General Sheridan’s army to their hamlet to destroy it. Neither could they have foreseen that the once grand army of General Jubal Early would meet its demise in their village just months later in March, 1865.
Join them SEPTEMBER 12 & 13, 2015 as we continue to commemorate the Battles of Waynesboro.
