“The Life and War of Confederate General Zebulon York” – Peter Dalton

In 1861 Zebulon York helped raise and finance a rifle company which would become a part of the 14th Louisiana Infantry. He would later become colonel of that regiment and lead it in many of the major battles in the East. Later in the war he would be promoted to brigade command and serve under General John Gordon. He would be seriously wounded at the Third Battle of Winchester. Speaker Peter Dalton has written two books on the American Civil War and edited four others. He also maintains and publishes a blog on the Shenandoah Valley’s Civil War History.  Free.  20 N.
