Second Winchester 155th Anniversary Programs
The Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation will commemorate the 155th Anniversary of the Second Battle of Winchester (fought June 13-15, 1863), with a series of programs:
- 1pm-2pm – “The Second Battle of Winchester: an Overview” program by Scott Mingus (Kernstown Battlefield on the Pritchard-Grim Farm, 610 Battle Park Drive, Winchester). The program will be held in the KBA Conference Room. Will include book signing after program.
- 2:30-4pm – Second Winchester Car Caravan Tour with Scott Mingus (Tour will begin at Kernstown Battlefield on Pritchard-Grim Farm)
- 6:15pm – Reception at Shenandoah Valley Civil War Museum (20 N. Loudoun St, Winchester)
- 6:45pm – “Remember Me: The Gettysburg Officers on the Courthouse Wall” program by Trish Ridgeway (Shenandoah Valley Civil War Museum, 20 N. Loudoun St., Winchester).

Kernstown Battlefield Tour
Come early on June 9 to enjoy an 11am guided tour of the Kernstown Battlefield with guide Larry Turner. (The KBA offers tours at 11am and 1pm on every Saturday from May to October.) Meet at the Visitors’ Center. Comfortable clothes and refreshments are advised.
You can also order a box lunch from Shaffer’s Barbecue. Lunch is $12 and includes a sandwich, 2 sides, dessert, and a drink. Lunches can be ordered before the tour and will be ready for the lunch break between the tour and the program with Scott Mingus.
