This meeting of the SVBF’s Civil War Roundtable will feature speaker Jeff Chamberlin.  Jeff’s topic will be “Opequon Envisioned: The Embattled Landscape of 3rd Winchester -Then and Now.”

About the Program
Jeff’s presentation will concern 19th century images of the Third Winchester Battlefield, the locations of events during the battle, and their corresponding positions today. This talk will include a visual emphasis on the engagements’ setting and the often-dramatic contrast of today’s changes upon this landscape.

About the Speaker
Jeff Chamberlin is an amateur local historian, an 8th generation native to Frederick County, and holder of degrees from Virginia Tech 1987, and James Madison University 1998. His main research interests are 19th century local grain milling economy, natural history, and early deed research. He is employed in the Survey Department of Triad Engineering Inc.
