“Meade and Reynolds at Gettysburg”: Kent Masterson Brown

Dr. Kent Masterson Brown, noted author & historian and President of the Kentucky CWRT, will speak on “‘Meade and Reynolds at Gettysburg,” addressing the orders and events that precipitated the Battle of Gettysburg.  The presentation will be drawn from his research for an upcoming book George Gordon Meade and the Gettysburg Campaign to be released in 2018.  Kent was the creator and first editor of the national magazine, The Civil War, and is author of many books, including Cushing of Gettysburg: The Story of a Union Artillery Commander and Retreat from Gettysburg: Lee, Logistics and the Pennsylvania Campaign.  As President and “content developer” for Witnessing History, LLC, Kent has also written, hosted and produced numerous award-winning documentary films.  Kent was the first chairman of the Gettysburg National Military Park Advisory Commission and the first chairman of the Perryville (Kentucky) Battlefield Commission, and is currently a director of the Gettysburg Foundation.  Free.  319 Letcher Ave., Lexington.
