Fridays at the Front: “Every heart is filled with anxiety”: Staunton, the War, and the Confederate Homefront

July 14 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Car caravan and walking tour of Civil War-related sites in Staunton led by SVBF CEO Keven Walker.  Part of the “Fridays at the Front” series.  Staunton was engulfed by the Civil War, becoming a critical strategic, logistical, and hospital site – and then faced the destruction of “Hunter’s Raid” after the Battle of Piedmont. The tour is free, but pre-registration is strongly encouraged.  To register, or for information about other upcoming Friday at the Front tours, click here.  Presented by the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields National Historic District.  For more information call the SVBF at 540-740-4545.
