Explore the battlefield with Civil War historian and Site Director, Lt. Col. Troy D. Marshall who will explain the action as it took place–exactly 153 years ago. Hear the accounts of the battle in the words of the soldiers who were there. The tour includes a visit to the Bushong home, the movie “Field of Lost Shoes” and the “Bloody Cedars.”
The tour will last approximately two hours from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Wear comfortable clothing, sunscreen, and walking shoes. You may bring a camp chair if you like. Participants receive a complimentary bottle of water and light refreshments along the way. Tour will include walking on the New Market Battlefield State Historical Park and driving personal vehicles to the nearby Days Inn parking lot.
