Free public lecture sponsored by Shenandoah University’s McCormick Civil War Institute. Lecture will he held on the campus of Shenandoah University in Henkel Hall, Hester Auditorium and examine how Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. leaned on President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation and the ways in which emancipation’s memory sparked fierce debate during the Civil War’s centennial–the height of the Civil Rights’ movement.
