The 16th Biennial Stonewall Jackson Symposium sponsored by the Stonewall Jackson House, one of three VMI Museums, will be held on Friday evening, May 27 and Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the Virginia Military Institute. The symposium offers participants the opportunity to visit the town in which Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson lived and the Virginia Military Institute at which he taught for the decade before the American Civil War, while learning about the little-known college professor who became a great military leader. The program will include an opening address Friday night by Frank A. O’Reilly, and a full day of lectures on Saturday by Jackson historians and biographers. Symposium speakers include Keith S. Bohannon, Robert E. L. Krick, Robert K. Krick, John W. Mountcastle, and Elizabeth Parnicza. The concluding address will be by bestselling author of historical fiction, Jeff Shaara.
