Local Land Use Planning
Through their local governments, residents of the Valley can determine future growth patterns and land use in their communities. Local comprehensive plans outline a vision for the community’s future and a set of goals, objectives, and tactics for achieving that vision. Corresponding ordinances help to implement the vision.

- Provide assistance in identifying historic resources associated with the Valley’s battlefields;
- Evaluate the impact of specific land use proposals on the Valley’s battlefields;
- Promote programs designed to support preservation of battlefield properties by interested landowners.
